Malmstrom now has 24/7 Domestic Abuse Hotline
Malmstrom now has a 24/7 private and confidential Domestic Abuse Hotline. The hotline is answered by the Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate who is a member of the Family Advocacy Program. The DAVA provides reporting options available, answers questions about intimate partner abuse or family violence, and encourages callers to come in for additional services. Services include victim safety planning, locating available resources on- and off-base, accompanying victims to court dates and medical appointments, assisting in finding shelter and filing for protective orders. Eligibility for ongoing services is limited to active-duty members, their spouses and their intimate partners. The DAVA can be reached by calling the Domestic Abuse Hotline at 952-3019. New CDMO hours
The Central Dorm Management Office, located in Bldg. 640, will be closed every Wednesday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. for training. The CDMO office can be reached on these days for emergencies only by calling their standby phone at 788-8641. For more information, call Staff Sgt. Chloe Martin at 731-4239.

New leave policy
Team Malmstrom members who will have more than 60 days of leave on Oct. 1, 2014 are encouraged to start using it now. Maximum leave carryover is 75 days through Sept. 30, 2013, but starting Oct. 1, 2014, all leave in excess of 60 days will be lost.

Introduction to Culture course
The Air Force Culture and Language Center is taking applications for the Introduction to Culture course. The online, self-pace course provides three credit hours for social science or program electives. Seating for the class will be limited to 1,000 students. New Chapel Worship hours
The Chapel is now offering a traditional Protestant Service at 11:15 a.m. and a Catholic Sunday Mass at 9:15 a.m. For more information, contact the chapel at 731-3721.

Outdoor Recreation trips slated
The following are outdoor adventure trips offered by Malmstrom's Outdoor Recreation:
· A caving adventure at Lick Creek Cave is scheduled for Sept. 23 from 1 to 9 p.m. The cost is $15 and includes transportation, helmets and headlamps.
· A Gate of the Mountains kayak and canoe trip is scheduled for Sept. 28 from 4 p.m. to midnight.
· A Glacier National Park hike is scheduled for Sept. 30 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Participants will have a chance to see snow-capped mountains and Yellow aspens as they pass through Siyeh Pass.

Home school kickoff potluck
A potluck for homeschoolers and their families is scheduled for Sept. 25 at the Chapel Annex from 5 to 7 p.m. Guest speakers will talk about opportunities for homeschoolers in the Great Falls community. For more information, call (701) 330-1723.

New ladies Bible study

Airmen development seminar
An Airmen development seminar for E-1s to E-4s with more than 12 months of time in service is scheduled for Sept. 25 at Bldg. 3080 in the conference room from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Prescription take-back day scheduled
The 341st Medical Group and 341st Security Forces Group are joining together to hold a National Prescription Take-Back Day Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Great Falls community members can turn in any unwanted medications, including controlled substances, at the Visitor Control Center parking lot located at Bldg. 192, on 2nd Avenue North. Thrift Store summer and fall hours
The Thrift store will be open on Tuesdays, Fridays and the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To find out more, visit the store's Facebook page.

Worship and Bible studies
A Charismatic Worship and Bible Study is held at the Chapel Annex on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Also, a Contemporary Worship and Bible Study will be held in the Chapel sanctuary on Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m.

Indoor soccer pre-season tournament
There will be a pre-season soccer tournament in preparation for the upcoming soccer leagues on Sept. 29 starting at 10 a.m. at the Fitness Center. Registration can be made at the front desk of the Fitness Center and all participants will need to be in place by 9:30 a.m. in the lower gym soccer field. Electric City Heat in need of softball coaches
The Electric City Heat girls fast pitch organization is looking for volunteer softball coaches with a fast pitch background to train girls between the ages of 7 and 14.
