Staff Sgt. Chad Posey Published Oct. 26, 2012 MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- Staff Sgt. Chad Posey, an active-duty Air Force member assigned to Malmstrom Air Force Base, died on Oct. 17. He was assigned to the 341st Civil Engineer Squadron as an emergency management technician. Posey's military career began April 21, 2004 and he arrived at Malmstrom July 12 of this year. His date of rank is Dec. 1, 2010. He graduated from Airman Leadership School in February 2010. His decorations include the Air Force Achievement Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with three devices, Meritorious Unit Award, Air Force Overseas Ribbon (Long), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with one device. "The Air Force and the men and women of the 341st Missile Wing are saddened by the loss of Staff Sgt. Posey. We extend our condolences to his family and friends," said Col. Heraldo B. Brual, 341st Missile Wing commander. "Staff Sgt. Posey's unit continues to support the mission of the 341st Missile Wing and perform their duty to defend America. And while he is deeply missed, his coworkers honor Staff Sgt. Posey's memory and service to his country by continuing on in their important mission." A memorial service for Posey was held Tuesday at the base chapel. He is survived by his wife, Cassie; son, Max and daughter, Hope.
