Briefings aimed at developing NCOs, Airmen Published Nov. 21, 2012 By 341st Missile Wing Public Affairs MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- There are two developmental briefings being offered at the Education and Training Center in December to further the leadership capabilities of Team Malmstrom enlisted members. "The 360 Degree Leader" will be held Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in room 101. This class is open to staff and technical sergeants. In his nearly 30 years of teaching leadership, John Maxwell has encountered this question again and again: How do I apply leadership principles if I'm not the boss? It's a valid question that Maxwell answers in "The 360 Degree Leader." Participants don't have to be the main leader, to make significant impact in their organization, Maxwell said. "Good leaders are not only capable of leading their followers but are also adept at leading their superiors and their peers." Debunking myths and shedding light on the challenges, Maxwell offers specific principles for Leading Down, Leading Up and Leading Across. By applying Maxwell's principles, participants will expand their influence and ultimately be more valuable team members. "Developing the Leader Within You" will be held Dec. 19 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in room 101. This class is open to airmen through senior airmen. This seminar will teach the basic principles of being a leader, the all-important "Five Levels of Leadership," and provides practices and principles that can apply instantly to improve leadership skills. Participants will learn how to: build trust through personal integrity, prioritize, create positive change and understand the process involved, develop people, invoke crucial problem solving techniques, articulate visions and goals for the organization, become character-driven vs. being emotion-driven, and much, much more.
