Community notes Published Jan. 18, 2013 By 341st Missile Wing Public Affairs MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. -- Protestant Youth Ministry There will be a protestant youth ministry for middle and high-school students on Wednesdays starting Jan. 23 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The activity will be held at the base chapel. Detour events scheduled The following are upcoming events that will be held at the Detour for all E-1 to E-4 Airmen: · A Snow Tubing event is scheduled for Jan. 27 from 1 to 8 p.m. Trip includes equipment, picnic and transportation. · A Super Bowl Party will be held Feb. 3 starting at 6 p.m. Game will be shown on eight screens at once, including two large projection screens. Event will include free pizza, wings and soda. · A Winter Retreat to Flathead Lake is scheduled to leave on Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. and return by 9 p.m. on Jan. 18. Airmen must register for the event by Feb. 14. The trip includes transportation, lodging, food and a canoe trip for only $45. For more information on the trips or to sign up, call 731-4282. MOU required for service member schools Effective March 1, 2013, "For an institution to be eligible to participate in the DoD Tuition Assistance Program, they must have a signed DoD Voluntary Education Partnership Memorandum of Understanding and be on the "Participating Institutions" list, which is posted on the DoD MOU webpage: www.dodmou.com." After March 1, schools without a signed DoD MOU will not be able to enroll service members under the TA program until they have signed the MOU. We strongly encourage Airmen to go to the above website and look up their school. Park University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the University of Great Falls, and the Montana State University and University of Montana affiliated schools HAVE signed. Top 3 offers scholarship The Malmstrom Top 3 is offering a scholarship to one Airman and one noncommissioned officer each quarter. Members interested in applying should submit a two-page essay on the topic of communication: effective from top down or down up to Master Sgt. Ronrico Pace via email at ronrico.pace@us.af.mil no later than March 15. The winners must be enrolled in an accredited college to receive the scholarship. Malmstrom receives new in-service recruiter Master Sgt. Philip Fogleman, 341st Force Support Squadron, is Malmstrom's new in-service recruiter and is located at the Education and Training Center in room 100E.
