Several Malmstrom Air Force Base squadrons gathered at the Grizzly Bend on Jan. 25 to compete against one another in the quarterly Wing Sports Smackdown.

After several grueling events, including ping pong, foosball, broom hockey, mini golf, dance central, basketball, cornhole, volleyball, dodgeball, and soccer, the 341st Security Forces Group walked away with the coveted trophy.

More than a dozen Air Force Sergeant's Association Chapter 1156 members teamed with 10 officers from Malmstrom's Company Grade Officer Association to support the event.

"[Wing Sports Smackdown] is an opportunity to get people out of shops to get to know each other, and build camaraderie amongst each other," said Master Sgt. Colin Crandall, 341st CES first sergeant and AFSA Chapter 1156 president.

To others, Wing Sports Smackdown provides an opportunity for them to break out of their shell.

"I danced last year," said 1st Lt. Simmona Robinson, 10th Missile Squadron ICBM combat crew commander and CGOA president. "It was kind of embarrassing but I still had fun. This event is a good way to get people motivated. I also think it gives Airmen a chance to flex their muscles. We have a lot of talented people."

Several prizes were awarded to the day's winners including exercise equipment, a Great Falls Shooting Complex one-year membership, a backpack and an abdominal lounger.

Until the next Wing Sports Smackdown, scheduled for April 26, the 341st SFG will take full advantage of its newly earned bragging rights.
