341 MW Tax Center up and operational

The 341st Missile Wing Tax Center is open for business in the Grizzly Bend, Room 12, to assist individuals with tax preparation needs.

The center is open from 8 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 4 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Due to staff reductions, the center is only available to book four appointments on Mondays and Wednesdays. A separate computer has been set up for walk-ins to help themselves.

A representative will be available for questions if necessary. Walk-ins are assisted on a first- come-first-serve basis. Appointments may also be made by visiting http://341mwtax.lattiss.com. For questions, call 731-2878.

In order to prepare tax returns, filers and their spouse - if married - must bring the following documents:

- Taxpayer's and dependents' Social Security cards
- Copies of all W-2s, Forms 1098, Forms 1099
- Interest and dividend statements (Form 1099 INT and 1099 DIV)
- Child care provider's name, address, and identification number (EIN or SSN)
- Taxpayer's banking information for refund deposit (preferably voided check or savings deposit slip) with routing number and account number
- Estimated tax payments made
- Amounts of other income
- A copy of last year's federal/state return, if possible
- Power of attorney
- Documentation supporting a claim to a dependency exemption
- Divorce decree or Form 8332 (Release of claim to exemption for children of Divorced or separated parents) after 2008
- Receipts showing charitable contributions
- Unreimbursed work or job-related expenses
- Receipts for amounts paid for educational expenses
- Documents showing real estate or property taxes paid
