CCAF April graduation deadline
The cutoff date for the April 2013 Community College of the Air Force graduating class is March 1. To be considered for graduation, CCAF must receive all documentation for degree candidate submissions including transcripts and CLEP scores if applicable. February blood drive
February's blood drive is scheduled for Feb. 19 at the Malmstrom Fitness Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All eligible donors are asked to schedule an appointment to donate blood by calling the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767 or by signing up online at www.redcrossblood.org. Any healthy person ages 18 or older and weighing at least 110 pounds may be eligible to donate blood. Valid identification is required for all blood donations. For more information, call 2nd. Lt. February is Dating Violence Awareness Month
A self defense class for all females ages 13 and older is scheduled for Feb. 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the youth center. For more information or to register, call 731-2161 or 731-4634.

MSC February wine special
Malmstrom Spouses' Club is hosting a wine tasting at Collins Mansion in Great Falls. Cost is $10 per person. RSVP by Feb. 11 by emailing malmstromspousesclub08@yahoo.com.

Warrior Fit Competition
A Warrior Fit Competition for all athletes on base is scheduled for Feb. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at the indoor soccer field of the fitness center. There will be four surprise workouts for participants. Athletes are encouraged to come prepared for anything. Airmen can sign up at the fitness center front desk. Stations of the Cross service
A Stations of the Cross service will be held every Friday from Feb. 15 through March 22 in the chapel sanctuary from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by a soup and bread dinner. For more information, call 731-4235.

Heart Link Spouse orientation
All military spouses who have not attended Heart Link at Malmstrom Air Force Base are invited to attend the next orientation scheduled for Feb. 22 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center located at building 1191. Heart Link is a spouse orientation program designed to strengthen military families and enhance mission readiness. Heart Link's goal is to assist spouses in acclimating to the Air Force environment. Lunch is provided and free childcare, funded by the Air Force Aid Society, will be available through the Malmstrom Home Day Care Providers program. Hourly childcare may be available at the Child Development Center. For more information regarding availability at the CDC, call 731-2417. Seating is limited and must be scheduled by Feb. 19. Assisted living classes offered
The following events are being held to help people get better understandings of situations and other things associated with assisted living. All events will be held at Cambridge Courts Assisted Living here in Great Falls.
· A vertigo presentation will be held Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. It will be presented by Dr. David Kluge, an eye, nose and throat specialist.
· On March 14, a presentation educating people on the differences between assisted living, nursing homes, skilled nursing homes and retirement homes will be held for those interested at 6:30 p.m. Memory care will also be discussed during this event.
· An Alzheimer's Support Group is held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month and an MS Support Group is held on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Both groups will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the 6th floor of Cambridge Courts.

MSC scholarships offered
The Malmstrom Spouses Club is offering scholarships for Malmstrom family members based on scholastic achievement, potential to work successfully at the college level, quality of the student essay, leadership, and extracurricular activities and achievements. Specific eligibility criteria is included in the application packet, which are available by emailing malmstromspousesclub08@yahoo.com. All applications must be postmarked by April 1.

Outdoor adventure trips
The following are outdoor adventure trips offered by Malmstrom's Outdoor Recreation:
· A Wing Ski Day at Showdown Ski Resort is schedule for Feb. 13. A bus will depart Sun Plaza Park at 8 a.m.
· A Whitefish Mountain Resort ski and snowboard weekend is scheduled for Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. to Feb. 10 at 9 p.m.
· A Glacier National Park backcountry trip is scheduled for Feb. 16 at 6 a.m. to Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. Attendees will have a chance to snowshoe or cross country ski into Glacier's backcountry.

Detour events scheduled
The following are upcoming events that will be held at the Detour for all E-1 to E-4 Airmen:
· A winter retreat to Flathead Lake is scheduled for Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. and return by 9 p.m. on Feb. 18. Airmen must register for the event by Feb. 14. The trip includes transportation, lodging, food and a canoe trip.

Top 3 scholarship
The Malmstrom Top 3 is offering a scholarship to one Airman and one noncommissioned officer each quarter. Members interested in applying should submit a two-page essay on the topic "Communication: effective from top down or down up," to Master Sgt. Ronrico Pace via email at ronrico.pace@us.af.mil no later than March 15. The winners must be enrolled in an accredited college to receive the scholarship.

Ash Wednesday Mass
There will be an Ash Wednesday Mass held in the base chapel sanctuary on Feb. 13 at 11:15 a.m. and 5 p.m. For more information, contact the base chapel at 731-3721.

Grizzly Bend group appreciation nights
The following are appreciation nights open to all Airmen at the Grizzly Bend:
· 341st Maintenance Group appreciation night is every Wednesday from 4:30 to 9 p.m.
· 341st Missions Support Group appreciation night is every Thursday from 4:30 to 9 p.m.
· 341st Security Forces Group appreciation night is every Friday from 4:30 to 11 p.m.

Master Sgt. Philip Fogleman, 341st Force Support Squadron, is Malmstrom's new in-service recruiter and is located at the Education and Training Center in room 100E.
