Defenders to honor fallen warrior during event
The 341st Security Forces Group is hosting an all-day event, April 3, to honor the five-year anniversary of the death of Staff Sgt. Travis Griffin, a security forces member assigned in Baghdad, Iraq. In his honor, the 341st SFS invite military members and their families to attend the following events:
· 6:30 a.m. a CrossFit workout at the Malmstrom Fitness Center outdoor track
· 11 a.m. a memorial ceremony and safety brief at the auditorium
· 12:45 p.m. an 8.3 ruck march will start at West Bank Park, located near the Great Falls Courthouse, continuing on the River's Edge Trail ending at Malmstrom.

Medical Effects of Ionizing Radiation Course offered
A Medical Effects of Ionizing Radiation Course, scheduled to be taught at Malmstrom April 16 through 18, still has spots open. MEIR Course is taught by the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. The postgraduate-level course is beneficial for military physicians, nurses, CNRNE specialists, health physicists, medical planners and first responders and is free for active-duty members. Fight for the Troops ICF event
An Intense Cage Fighting event, "Fight for the Troops," is scheduled to take place April 5 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the 3-Bay Hangar. The event will feature six amateur fighters and one professional fighter (Joe McMillan). Team Malmstrom members are encouraged to attend the weigh-in scheduled for April 4 at 4:30 p.m. for a chance to meet the fighters and ring ladies. Fitness Center tournaments
The following are upcoming tournaments at the Malmstrom Fitness and Sports Center:
· An ultimate Frisbee tournament is scheduled for April 13 at 9 a.m.
· A six-on-six outdoor soccer tournament is scheduled for April 20 at 9 a.m. Shin guards are highly recommended.

Bow hunter education courses offered
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is offering two free bow hunter education classroom courses at Paris Gibson Education Center, located at 2400 Central Ave. The first class is scheduled for April 10 and 11 from 6 to 9 p.m., and April 15, 17 and 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. A field exercise is scheduled for April 20. The second course is scheduled for May 14 and 16 from 6 to 9 p.m., and May 18 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information or to register, go to the FWP website at http://www.fwp.mt.gov. Registration is also taking place at the FWP, located at 4600 Giant Spring Road, on April 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. and May 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. Students are required to pick up and read the bow hunter education manual before the first class. Prospective bow hunters between the ages of 12 and 17 must take both a hunter and bow hunter education course before they can attain an archery license. All bow hunters, regardless of age, must complete a bow hunter education course. For more information, call the FWP office in Great Falls at 454-5840.

Volunteers needed for annual book sale
The Great Falls Public Library is holding their annual book sale on May 16, 18 and 19. Donations for the event will be taken on April 6. The library is in need of volunteers for the donation day and the event, as well as any time in between to sort books. Health and Fitness Fair
There will be a Health and Fitness Fair and Sports Day being held at the fitness center May 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will include health fair booths, food, drinks and sport events. Support groups offered
Cambridge Courts Assisted Living here in Great Falls offers an Alzheimer's Support Group on the 3rd Tuesday of every month and an MS Support Group on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Both groups start at 6:30 p.m. on the 6th floor of Cambridge Courts. For more information regarding the events, contact Wanda Ulmen at 727-7151.

Outdoor adventure trips
The following are outdoor adventure trips offered by Malmstrom's Outdoor Recreation:
· A Biking Yellowstone Weekend is scheduled for April 12 starting at 5 p.m. and return April 14 around 6 p.m. Participants will bike from West Yellowstone along the Madison River. Trip includes lodging, transportation and Norris Hot Spring entry fee.
· Whitewater Raft Guide Training classes offered from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.: Class Lesson I is scheduled for April 15 or 18; Class Lesson II is scheduled for April 22 or 25; and Class Lesson III is scheduled for April 29 or May 2. An indoor pool session will be held April 23. Participants must attend at least two on-river training days, scheduled for April 27 and 28 or May 4 and 5.

Grizzly Bend events
The following are upcoming events at the Grizzly Bend scheduled for the month of March:
· Monday night madness is scheduled every Monday from 4 to 9 p.m.
· Ladies night is scheduled for every Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m.
· Country night is scheduled for March 29 and April 26 from 8 p.m. to midnight.
