Colonel Jeremy Russell is Commander of the 341st Maintenance Group, Malmstrom AFB, Montana. He is responsible for more than 550 Airmen and all sustainment, modernization, and deployment operations required in sustaining and modernizing up to 150 Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles and associated launch facilities and launch control centers throughout the 13,800 square mile complex. He is also the senior advisor to the Wing Commander for all logistics and maintenance matters.
Colonel Russell was born in Whittier California. After graduating high school in 1995, he enlisted in the Air Force and completed two assignments over a 6-year period as a Munitions Journeyman. As a Staff Sergeant, he was accepted to attend Officer Training School. After earning his commission, he managed maintenance efforts on Minuteman and Peacekeeper ICBMs, B-61 nuclear weapons, and oversaw the Air Forces’ largest conventional stockpile. Colonel Russell also held a few specially appointed positions to include Munitions Accountable Systems Officer (MASO), Group Safety Officer, Squadron Section Commander, Group Executive Officer, and was elected the Company Grade Officer Council President at four bases.
Additionally, he served contingency deployments in Saudi Arabia in 1999 as a munitions Staff Sergeant and Iraq in 2009 as a munitions Captain. His support team at home includes his wife, Brittany, 6-year-old son Loomis, 2-year-old son Miles, and 2-month-old son Oliver.
