Being assigned to a customer service organization means you have to cater to the patron's needs. It also means you may have to work on a holiday.

"Someone has to provide a service to our customers," said Airman 1st Class Chanice Leonard, a fitness specialist with the 341st Services Squadron. "And I don't have any bad feelings about being the one to do so."

She worked New Year's Day to ensure the fitness-conscious warriors of Team Malmstrom could pump iron or get in a cardio work-out if they choose to do so.
The Newark, N.J., native has spent all but two months of her two-year Air Force career at Malmstrom.

The married Airman, who holds an associate's degree in liberal arts and a bachelor's degree in history, likes to work on her home, is a photography buff and is dedicated to her church in her off-duty time.

Her favorite holiday memory takes her back to her childhood in 1992 and a special time at her great grandmother's house.

"We kids were all running around and playing while the moms were in the kitchen cooking. It was awesome . . . definitely a euphoric time in my family."
