The 341st Medical Group has become the first Air Force Medical Treatment Facility to achieve accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, since a new contract was signed between the AAAHC and the DoD in April 2006, according to Col. Chad Harris, commander.

The AAAHC survey team arrived April 25 along with IG inspectors and conducted an intensive three day survey of health care quality, business practices and the physical plant. The 341st MDG received an "excellent" rating on the IG portion of the inspection and was granted the highest level of accreditation, three years, by the civilian organization.

Status as an accredited organization means the 341st MDG has passed a series of rigorous and nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care, set by the Accreditation Association. More than 2,600 health care organizations across the United States are accredited by the AAAHC.

"Accreditation underscores our long-standing commitment to providing the highest possible levels of quality care to the community we serve," said Colonel Harris. "We are pleased and proud to have our efforts recognized with this accreditation."
