Housing Privatization

Housing Privatization
Today, more than 38 percent of Air Force housing does not meet modern standards and requires either major improvements or replacement. In response to these issues, the Department of Defense has decided the most viable means of revitalizing housing in a reasonable time is through privatizing housing. Housing privatization is a non-traditional approach that reduces the amount of time needed to "fix" inadequate housing. It is a faster method than through the traditional military construction method, thereby revitalizing military family housing and improving the quality of life for the military family sooner.

Goal
Malmstrom's goal is to provide military families access to safe, quality, affordable, well-maintained housing in a community where they will choose to live.
