The Air Force Aid Society is a non-profit organization that helps the Air Force take care of its Airmen in emergencies through interest-free loans or grants for basic needs.
The following are examples of some of the financial needs that could qualify Airmen for emergency financial assistance:
- Rent or mortgage payment to prevent eviction or foreclosure, when circumstances warrant
- Money to purchase food
- Money for travel to a family member's funeral
- Help pay utility bills to avoid being shut off
- Car repair for a mechanical failure
- Unexpected medical expenses
- Grants for education

New Falcon Loan Program: This program provides an interest-free loan of $750 or less, designed to meet the types of short-term financial needs of Airmen on active duty who might otherwise have to resort to a high-interest lender. Applying for the falcon loan is as easy as 1-2-3-4:

- Get your Air Force ID card and current Leave and Earnings Statement
- Provide Title 10 U.S.C. orders and avoid check Air Force Reserve/Air National Guard personnel only)
- Go to the Airman and Family Readiness Center
Some of these short-term financial needs are basic living expenses (rent, mortgage, food, phone, utilities and gasoline), vehicle expenses (payment, repair and insurance), emergency travel, and medical and dental expenses.
