MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. --

The Air Force is revolutionizing its club membership program in the coming months, to include a transition away from the club credit card to the AF Club Membership portal.

“Many people told us that they wanted to become a part of their Air Force clubs and the culture that surrounds membership, but declined because of the credit card requirement,” said Jonathan Boyd, Air Force Services Activity chief of nonappropriated fund food and beverage operations.

“We’ve changed the way to Air Force Club membership and much more with this new portal. We’re very excited to roll out this new capability to our current members and offer it to all of our active-duty force, retirees and Department of Defense civilians,” Boyd added.

The Air Force Services Activity has partnered with MemberPlanet to manage the Air Force Club Membership portal through a web site, as well as develop a mobile application for personal electronic devices.

“The beauty of the Club Membership Portal is that members can now choose to use their top of the wallet credit or debit card to pay for membership dues,” Boyd said.

In addition to more freedom with dues payment methods, members will be better informed about club programs and events in “real time” through the web portal and mobile application.

“Through our membership portal, club members can find out what events are happening at their club,” said Boyd. “We’re also looking to expand the membership portal to provide our members with information pertaining to other installation services facilities and products.”

The new AF Club Membership Portal will be rolled out across the Air Force Aug 1.

“Air Force club membership is a tradition,” said Col. Donna Turner, AFSVA commander. “It’s where our Airmen experience, learn and share our Air Force culture. Our clubs provide resiliency to our Airmen and their families. This new approach to club membership will make it easier for our Airmen to stay connected with the tradition and build on the AF culture and esprit de corps established by those who have served before.”
