6/22/2009 - MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE. Mont. -- Change of command announced
The 341st Medical Support Squadron change of command will be held June 26 at 10 a.m. in the Grizzly Bend Club. Team Malmstrom members are invited to attend.

European Heritage meeting announced
The European Heritage Committee will meet June 24 at 3:30 p.m. in building 770/EOI classroom. For more information, call Master Sgt. Denise Jones at 731-3253.

Construction disruptions outlined
Several construction projects on base will require disruptions to some services for some locations. Those affected are:
 Lanes will be restricted on Goddard Drive between the main gate and Cedar Street to facilitate landscaping and installation of a new irrigation system. Traffic signs and cones will be in place to direct traffic from June 22 at 7 a.m. to June 26 at 4:30 p.m.
 Construction on 79th Street between buildings 220 and 450 between June 18 to Aug. 25 has been cancelled.
 Flightline Drive will remain closed near building 220 until approximately June 26.
 Dogwood Street between Hickory and Gumwood Streets will be closed June 22 to 30 to install temporary power and remove the old duct bank. This work will also require an 8-hour power outage June 26 that includes electrical, telephone and cable television. The housing units affected are on the south side of Hickory Street and the north side of Gumwood Street from Dogwood to Locust. Also affected are the two buildings on the north side of Locust between Hickory and Gumwood.

Dance classes set to begin
Hip hop dance classes have started and are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Grizzly Bend Club. Everyone is invited. Rules change for dropping off hazardous chemicals
The household chemical drop off point, located adjacent to building 410, will only operate from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for Malmstrom organizations and housing residents. Prior to placing items into the storage area, customers are required to sign in at the 341st Civil Engineer Squadron Pollution Prevention office, building 410. For more information, call 731-6163.

Military night at Voyagers baseball coming
Military Night at the Great Falls Voyagers is June 27. Game time is 7 p.m. at Centene Stadium. All military and their family members get in free. Tickets are required and can be picked up at any 1st Liberty Federal Credit Union, the Fitness Center and Youth Programs Center starting June 16. Prizes will be drawn every inning including a $500 cash prize and tickets to a Seattle Mariners baseball game. For more information, visit www.fss.com or call 731-4849.

Bowling Bonanza has started
Now through July 31, every time you bowl, earn a punch on a punch card. Fill up the card and get a free game of bowling and a soda. Each full card is then entered into a drawing for weekly prizes. Two grand prizes of $400 and $200 each will be drawn at the end of the promotion. For more information, call 731-2695.

Volunteer opportunities for 4th of July weekend
Military members of all ranks are invited to march in this year's 4th of July parade. If interested, meet at 10 a.m. at the Civic Center to form up. Volunteers are also needed to hand out American flags along the parade route. If interested in either of these opportunities, contact Ed Brown at 788-0032.
Black Eagle Park and Recreation needs volunteers to set up and tear down the annual 4th of July picnic. Those who volunteer will receive complimentary tickets to the picnic. Work hours are 7 to 9:30 a.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m. For more information or to volunteer, call Susan Konesky at 454-5171 or 899-8130.

Free water park party coming in July
The next Culture of Responsible Choices free event is an alcohol-free party at the Electric City Water Park July 10 from 8 p.m. to midnight. Free refreshments will be provided. To sign up, just show your ID at the gate.

CCAF offering distance learning course
Enlisted Airmen can now register for "Introduction to Culture," a Community College of the Air Force distance learning course that explores subjects defining culture, family relationships, religion, belief systems, how one makes a living, and sports and recreation. Students are provided all reading and instructional material at no cost. For more information, call 731-3531.
